This privacy policy describes how Dr. Olivia Caune (“we”, “our” or “the practice”) processes personal data when you visit our website olivijacaune.lv (“Site”) or use our services.
Dr. Olīvija Caune is self-employed, registered in the Register of Companies of the Republic of Latvia and the State Revenue Service. The controller of the website and data processing is Dr. Olīvija Caune.

- Identification data: name, surname, personal ID number (for medical records);
- Contact: email address, phone number;
- Medical information: complaints, medical history, test results, prescribed medicines (kept only in the medical record);
- Textual information: IP address, browser type, device type, time and dates of visits (via Google Analytics 4);
- Payment details: payment information is processed only in the payment service provider's (MakeCommerce / Maksekeskus) system. We do not store your bank card details.
2. How we use your data
Your personal data is used for the following purposes:
- Providing medical advice - to provide you with quality healthcare services;
- Managing the record - to organise and confirm the timing of visits;
- Contact - to answer your questions and send you reminders about your appointments;
- Site analysis - to improve the Site and user experience (Google Analytics 4);
- Legal obligations - keeping records in accordance with Latvian medical documentation requirements.
3. Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data on the following legal grounds (Article 6 GDPR):
- Consent - if you have given your explicit consent (e.g. for newsletters);
- Execution of the contract - to arrange your appointment and medical consultation;
- Legal obligation - keeping medical records in accordance with Latvian law;

- Public authorities - only if required by law (e.g. by a court order or epidemiological surveillance requirements).
6. Duration of data storage
We keep your personal data for as long as necessary:
- Medical records - in accordance with Latvian Cabinet of Ministers regulations (at least 10 years after the last visit);
- Contact form data - until your request has been met or for a maximum of 2 years;
- Analytical data (Google Analytics) - 14 months;
- Payment data - in accordance with accounting and tax legislation (minimum 5 years).
7. Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:
- Right of access - request information about what data we process about you;
- Right to rectification - request the rectification of inaccurate or incorrect data;
- Right to erasure - request the erasure of personal data (“right to be forgotten”) if there are no other legal grounds for keeping them;
- Right to restriction of processing - request a temporary suspension of data processing;
- Right to object - object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- Right to data portability - receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format;
- Right to withdraw consent - withdraw consent to data processing at any time (this does not affect the lawfulness of the processing before withdrawal).
