Yes! Jūrmala City Municipality grants an allowance of EUR 200 per year to cover healthcare costs for all pensioners declared in Jūrmala. This is unique support - Jūrmala is the only municipality in Latvia that grants this benefit to all declared seniors.
Who can get:
- Persons declared in Jurmala at least 1 year.
- Recipients of a state retirement pension or service pension.
- Persons who have reached retirement age and receive a social security benefit or invalidity pension from the Social Security Agency.
What the benefit covers:
- Doctors' consultations and patient co-payments (including private doctors)
- Dentistry
- Medicines and medical supplies
- Optics and vitamins
How to apply:
- Keep original cheques for healthcare costs.
- Complete the application form (available on jurmala.lv under «Services»).
- Submit your application with receipts to Jūrmala Municipality (Jomas iela 1/5) or the Welfare Office (Talsu šoseja 31) by 31 January of the following year.
The benefit is transferred within one month of the decision.
